Alison Ann Sweeney is an American performer, host of a reality television show writer and director. Sweeney is most well-known for her portrayal of Samantha Sami Brady on the NBC soap drama Days of Our Lives a role she played under contract with the show between January 6 and October 30 2014. Sweeney was finally able to play her character in 1999. She ditched fads like drinking grapefruit or cabbage soup, and adopted healthy lifestyle changes, like eliminating sodas with sugar and started going to boot camp-style gym classes. And the result? Sweeney has shed nearly 30 pounds. Sweeney, who is Irish through descent, has two siblings. She studied Economics at UCLA before deciding to work on Days of Our Lives.
